COO, WeSpark

Financial independence is not a dream. It is a model, a discipline, and a system.

Biography

Richard Nguyen is the COO of WeSpark, the innovation agency known for AI training that teams can measure. He is a servant leader, financial model builder, systems designer, and educator working at the intersection of Bitcoin education, financial independence, and human development.

Born and raised in Southern California, Richard was shaped by the example of his immigrant parents, who came to the United States from Vietnam with little more than determination, work ethic, and a belief in education. Their journey gave him an early understanding of money not as a status symbol, but as a tool for stability, choice, and opportunity.

That foundation became central to Richard’s work. Over time, he developed a deep interest in financial models, investing principles, Bitcoin, and the systems that allow people to take greater ownership over their lives. For Richard, financial independence is not a dream. It is a model, a discipline, and a system.

Before stepping into his current work with WeSpark, Richard spent years building financial models, teaching, coaching, and supporting the development of others. His path also included the corporate world, where he saw firsthand the limits of traditional success paths. Moving up the ladder did not always create the freedom, impact, or alignment he was looking for. That realization pushed him toward work that was more mission-driven, more practical, and more directly connected to helping people improve their lives.

Today, Richard’s work focuses on building educational systems that help people understand money, Bitcoin, and financial sovereignty. He has served as a founder, operator, educator, investor, community builder, curriculum designer, and coach. Across these roles, his consistent focus has been helping people make better decisions through clearer models, stronger systems, and deeper self-trust.

Richard is a founder-level contributor, co-author, curriculum designer, and program builder for the Bitcoin Diploma, developed in collaboration with El Salvador’s National Bitcoin Office and educators committed to expanding access to modern financial education. Through this work, he has contributed to curriculum and learning experiences designed to help students understand Bitcoin, money, savings, sovereignty, and long-term decision-making.

In addition to his work with WeSpark, Richard cofounded Decentralized FIRE, also known as DeFire, at decentralizedfire.com. DeFire is a Bitcoin and personal finance initiative focused on a new route to a timeless destination: learning how to apply timeless investing principles to Bitcoin. The project reflects one of Richard’s core beliefs: that financial freedom is not reserved for experts, institutions, or the already wealthy. It can be taught, modeled, practiced, and built step by step.

His work has touched communities in the United States, El Salvador, and early efforts in Colombia. As a tutor, educator, and program builder, Richard has reached hundreds of learners through workshops, coaching, curriculum development, and direct education. His work is grounded less in hype and more in proof: trust the math, understand the system, and take disciplined action.

Richard is also helping build AI-powered education systems designed around the belief that everyone deserves access to learning that moves as fast as the world itself. As technology accelerates, Richard believes education must become more adaptive, more personal, and more responsive to the needs of each learner. This vision reflects a future where every person can learn with tools that meet them where they are and help them move forward with clarity.

At the center of Richard’s philosophy is a simple idea: Bitcoin is a tool. Used wisely, it can help people celebrate freedom, protect their time, and build more sovereign lives. But Bitcoin alone is not the solution. Education, discipline, models, and personal responsibility are what turn tools into transformation.

Richard continues to move WeSpark forward in its AI training work, bringing the same systems thinking he applied to Bitcoin education and financial modeling. His work is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It is about building useful things, connecting institutions with grassroots communities, and helping people create freedom through education, design, and action.
